Nicol Howard, PhD is currently an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator in the School of Education (Department of Teaching and Learning) at the University of Redlands. Nicol has served as an educator in various capacities over the past 18 years. She has taught at the high school level (9th – 12th grades and Special Education) in the Compton Unified School District and grades K through 4 in the Corona-Norco Unified District and the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), and she was a Program Specialist (Personalized/Blended Learning) in the Learning Innovation with Technology department at SAUSD. Dr. Howard has also taught in the College of Educational Studies at Chapman University. Nicol is currently the outgoing chair for ISTE’s Digital Equity Network. Her research and practice interests are related to effective technology-use in education and equity issues in computer science, STEM Education, and professional learning for educators.
