I have twelve years of classroom teaching experience, working with a diverse group of students during that time. I currently serve as the ELA teacher at my current school as well as the gifted coordinator and teacher of technology. My writing reflects my experiences both in and out of the classroom, as it pertains to the field of education. My educational passions include the student-driven classroom, diversity, and community as well as innovation and authenticity, to include student empowerment and the C.L.I.M.B.E. philosophy.
I attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL for my baccalaureate degree in elementary education K-6. I have a Masters of Education degree in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University. I am currently a doctoral student at Grand Canyon University. I continue to capture my experiences as an educator in written form. Thanks for reading.

I began my career as a high school English teacher in public, charter, and private schools. I served high school students who always cracked me up and had the opportunity to be an active campus improvement team member, student activities sponsor, and curriculum writer. I’ve managed and facilitated engaging learning in classes small and large.
I love seeing growth in learners and the people with whom I work. I am encouraged when they experience learning epiphanies.
As a result of these experiences, I moved into school leadership roles where I coached and trained teachers to be impactful, passionate, efficient, and effective. I created curricular and instructional products designed to improve learner engagement and performance. I have enjoyed coaching, training, improving processes, people development, collaboration, coming alongside teams, & being a servant thought-leader. Now, I seek to empower, encourage, and equip people as a trainer and learning developer.
To hear a learner say, “Ms. D. this is the first book I’ve ever finished, or I finally get it!” are the moments I live for in learning and in life. Each has cemented my core beliefs and helped me know I was doing my job well.
It is my passion to equip, empower, and encourage the people in my sphere of influence. I am all about helping people who think they can’t to remember they can. I hope to inspire you.
